Where Can I Find My Leads?

By Tony Alverio

Ok, so you already have a site that caters to your own online business. That’s quite an achievement since it’s not really easy to set up one. The next thing you will need then is a target market. This target market is composed of all the people who are interested in the items you are selling on your site, and they are called leads. For sure you have your friends to back you up for support, but of course you need a new string of customers who would go to your site-the problem is, where can you find them?

Generating leads is not a fun job-it is actually gruesome. For a newbie in the online business, this is the part where you have to exert much effort, as this would make your business work out. Without customers, nobody would notice your goods, thus you have to look for them across the internet.

When trying to generate leads, you can first attack the communities real people go to. These include forums, bulletin boards and social networks. These people update their accounts everyday and even discuss things with each other occasionally, so from there you can participate and introduce your business. It is important to remember however that the communities you would go to should be under the niche your site is in, so that you can easily receive targeted traffic.

The second way you can generate leads is by sending mails to everyone in your contact list. This may sound spammy but you can actually avoid that glitch by sending them personalized invitations written by yourself. This way they would feel more enticed to check out your site and see what they can get from their visit. If they find your business interesting, then they may even refer it to their friends as well.

Lastly, you may opt for online lead generation services. This kind of service would take over the email addresses listed on your own email accounts, as well as their own set of potential leads based on your niche. These companies would check your business profile and match it with their own profiles, and from there they can send invites to internet users whom they know could be interested in your business. Of course this service does cost some bucks, but if you think it can help you get more customers, then why not give them a try?

Lead generation can be totally painstaking, but it’s just during the beginning of your business. Once you have established your online venture and have garnered your own set of followers, then everything will be a breeze soon after.
