work from home dads

Why people are against the stay at-home dads?
My sister and her husband have a daughter of 16 babies per month. They are married for 4 years, together for 10. My sister has an excellent working and paying my brother was a 1st grade teacher before he leaves. They live in San Francisco, and the cost of living is very high. My brother decided to leave his job for him to deal their daughter. He did a great job and the house is always clean. However, people always seem to be against fathers stay at home and I think they are all lazy. Why is this?
It's just because of tradition. Traditionally, it was the man that does the job in part because women simply were not allowed to do so. People are comfortable with the traditional and they tend to forget why this was the case. I think it will just take time for people to rethink the stay at home Dad. As it does the job, thats fine.

Devotions for Dads
$8.42 Devotions for Dads was developed over several years as a tool for personal reflection and family devotion by Rick Wertz with the Faithful Fathering Initiative in Texas as part of FFIT's ongoing work with dads. The original inspiration for the book was research published by the Center for Alcohol and Substance Abuse showing that eating dinner together as a family is the single most effective way to keep kids off drugs. FFIT asked: How much more could a weekly 30-minute family discussion impact the kids, especially one referencing the word of God and its practical application today? As he began to formulate the Devotions, Rick introduced their use into FFIT's workshops, studies and retreats, and the reception from the dads was very strong. He routinely gets calls and emails from men sharing how they use the Devotions beyond the original goal to enhance their: -Personal devotion time; -Devotion and discussion time with their wives; and -Men's small group meetings and studies. Our prayer is that the Lord will encourage you through the weekly devotions that make up Devotions for Dads and equip you well through the resultant discussions to grow as a faithful father, a dad that prioritizes physical presence, is engaged emotionally and leads spiritually by example. |

Dating for Dads
$10.98 Here is the first book written specifically for men who date while answering to a higher authority: their children. As a single father, you’re ready to begin dating again. But are your kids ready? In this much-needed guide, relationship expert Ellie Slott Fisher comes to the rescue with no-nonsense, no-judgments advice on everything from how to ask a woman out to navigating the potential minefield of overnight dates. Single dads are as nervous as single moms about merging their parental responsibilities with their social lives, but they often don’t have intimate friendships in which to share their concerns. Drawing on her own experience as a single parent, interviews and surveys she conducted with more than a hundred single fathers and their children, and the advice of family therapist Dr. Paul Halpern, Fisher gives the lowdown on a range of tricky topics, including:•When do I introduce my kids to the woman I’m dating?•What if they don’t like her?•Is it acceptable to date someone closer to my child’s age than my own? •Are sleepovers okay when my kids—or her kids—are home?•How do I give my children the reassurance they need while pursuing a social life of my own? Plus, how to avoid one of the biggest dating pitfalls: mistaking lust for love. From dealing with your ex-spouse to protecting your children’s inheritance, and many issues in-between, Fisher gives single fathers the tools they need to be both sexy suitors and devoted dads. |

Queen Bee Moms & Kingpin Dads
$3.48 What happens to Queen Bees and Wannabes when they grow up?Even the most well-adjusted moms and dads can experience peer pressure and conflicts with other adults that make them act like they’re back in seventh grade. In Queen Bee Moms & Kingpin Dads, Rosalind Wiseman gives us the tools to handle difficult situations involving teachers and other parents with grace. Reassuring, funny, and unfailingly honest, Wiseman reveals:• Why PTA meetings and Back-to-School nights tap into parents’ deepest insecurities• How to recognize the archetypal moms and dads—from Caveman Dad to Hovercraft Mom• How and when to step in and step out of your child’s conflicts with other children, parents, teachers, or coaches • How to interpret the code phrases other parents use to avoid (or provoke) confrontation• Why too many well-meaning dads sit on the sidelines, and how vital it is that they step up to the plate• What to do and say when the playing field becomes an arena for people to bully and dominate other kids and adults• How to have respectful yet honest conversations with other parents about sex and drugs when your values are in conflict• How the way you handle parties, risky behavior, and academic performance affects your child• How unspoken assumptions about race, religion, and other hot-button subjects sabotage parents’ ability to work togetherQueen Bee Moms & Kingpin Dads is filled with the kind of true stories that made Wiseman’s New York Times bestselling book Queen Bees & Wannabes impossible to put down. There are tales of hardworking parents with whom any of us can identify, along with tales of outrageously bad parents—the kind we all have to reckon with. For instance, what do you do when parents donate a large sum of money to a school and their child is promptly transferred into the honors program–while your son with better grades doesn’t make the cut? What about the mother who helps her daughter compose poison-pen e-mails to yours? And what do you say to the parent-coach who screams at your child when the team is losing? Wiseman offers practical advice on avoiding the most common parenting “land mines” and useful scripts to help you navigate difficult but necessary conversations.Queen Bee Moms & Kingpin Dads is essential reading for parents today. It offers us the tools to become wiser, more relaxed parents–and the inspiration to speak out, act according to our values, show humility, and set the kind of example that will make a real difference in our children’s lives. Also available as a Random House AudioBook and as an eBook |
