Does the state offer courses for teachers of the University of Penn graduates online MBA program?
I am growing not the management company who want to pursue a Masters in MBA through online courses. Does the course teach the basics of business management Before going into details.
I think you need a business degree in order to further control because you're ability to rely on other courses you would have had to make. you need the business center for the general BA at Penn State and masters is if you want to take all of this step a little further. The only part of the online university is WorldCampus and I do not think they offer Master in Business Admin.

Business of Personal Training, The (book)
$36.95 Inside information on administering your personal training business Whether you are considering a career as a personal trainer or searching for ways to increase revenue and gain new clients for your existing business, you'll find The Business of Personal Training to be an indispensable reference. Written by some of the most successful personal trainers in the country, this book provides the foundation for building your personal training business. While many books address the subject of exercise training, few have been written about the business side of personal training. This book covers the topic more thoroughly than any other existing publication, discussing not only how to build a solid business but also how to be an effective trainer. Part I defines personal training, outlines the history of the profession, and reviews the qualifications for being a personal trainer. You'll also find important information on the certifications offered by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Many personal trainers have no formal business education and must learn the business aspects of their trade through trial and error. Part II helps you avoid common business mistakes, describing how to create, market, and manage a personal training enterprise. You'll learn how to develop a mission statement and business plan, set business policies, create strategic and creative marketing plans, establish prices for services, hire and train staff members, and much more. This section also explains a personal trainer's legal and professional responsibilities, such as giving clients a health screening, obtaining informed consent, and inspecting facilities and equipment. Part III offers techniques for becoming an effective personal trainer. Since there's more to helping your clients achieve their fitness goals than simply prescribing a program, Part III discusses how to maintain a professional relationship with clients, the psychology of personal training, teaching techniques and tips for improving client-trainer communication, how to motivate clients and help them set goals, and how to design appropriate, individualized exercise programs. Nineteen sample forms in Parts II and III make it easy for you to put the ideas presented into practice. Learn from veteran personal trainer |

It's Not Just Gym Anymore Book (Copyright 2001, 256 pages)
$32.95 Learn how to get kids more involved in their physical education classes -- and how to get them to stay active beyond high school! In It's Not Just Gym Anymore, national high school physical education teacher of the year Bane McCracken shows you how to develop a program that prepares students to be physically active after they graduate. Just as kids wonder how they'll use certain academic skills later in life, they may also question how physical education activities, such as learning to play volleyball, will help them after they leave school. The approach in this book doesn't just help students recognize and learn physical skills and understand why physical activity and fitness are important. It also keeps them motivated by showing them that they don't have to be athletic to be fit and by presenting more diverse activities that they can continue to enjoy as adults. Helping students make the transition from active students to active adults is the element that's missing from too many traditional physical education programs, but it's at the heart of the revolution that's being touted as the new PE -- programs that are results-oriented and valued as relevant to the needs of today's society. It's Not Just Gym Anymore is divided into two parts. In Part I, the author provides a theoretical basis and practical strategies for developing a new PE program. As a highly successful teacher himself, McCracken shares his insights in a personal, encouraging manner that teachers can really relate to. He explains how to: examine what motivates people in the community to stay fit; determine what local and regional resources are available; design courses according to the needs of students; develop cross-curricular activity plans that reinforce basic skills and concepts, using hands-on technology to enhance students' knowledge and motivation; integrate computers and the Internet into physical education classes; use appropriate teaching styles to reach all students; develop a critical-thinking portfolio system of assessment that enables students to be more active; and promote physical activity throughout the school and the community by offering field trips, fairs, coordinated curriculum events, and family nights. Part II contains helpful tools that make the program easy to implement -- including 170 sample lesson plans and 118 reproducible forms that teachers can photocopy for use in class or use as examples for developing their own forms. The lesson plans cover not only traditi |

Together they take a close look at 30 studies to help educators learn how to glean valuable information from research. The book opens a window into the minds of 69 scholars as they puzzle about teachers, students, and programs. Readers do not need a highly technical vocabulary, advanced scientific or mathematical knowledge, or a detailed background concerning research methods. The authors have provided translations in the form of brief, nontechnical annotations that teachers and other non researchers will actually enjoy reading. Each study is briefly described and then commented on from a researcher's perspective, a teacher's perspective, and finally, a shared perspective. The 30 reports address important, practical issues recognizable to anyone familiar with what happens in a physical education class. The book shows how the studies can be useful to teachers in their own work, and it points out how valuable information from research can be used to improve teaching. The book also demonstrates how stimulating and fruitful dialogue can be when the knowledge of researchers and practitioners is brought together around a single study. By discussing each study from both perspectives, the book sheds light on the common ground between researchers and physical educators and fosters mutual respect between the two.
